Thousands in the Stands and Incredible Plays on the Court

The Madrid Premier Padel P1 is one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, and once again, it did not disappoint. After the summer break, fans were hungry for padel and filled the WiZink Center to capacity.

When they say Madrid is the world capital of padel, it’s no exaggeration. Attendance was consistent throughout the week, peaking with 14,028 spectators during the semifinals.

While the crowd was always buzzing, the star players, match after match, did not disappoint on the court. Incredible games with points that seemed straight out of an action movie.

Respect to the Champions

In the men's draw, the awaited final saw Coello and Tapia defeat the 'Chingalán' pair. Heading into the final, Coello and Tapia were trailing in head-to-head matchups (4-5), but they were determined to show why they continue to lead the world rankings. With a 6-3, 7-6 win, the rivalry between the two best pairs in the world was leveled.

With the title in Madrid, Coello and Tapia now have seven victories this season.

The women's final was marked by another injury to Bea Gonzalez (shoulder), forcing the Spanish player to withdraw during the second set, with Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez already leading 6-2, 2-1.

This was the third title for the Spanish duo, following their wins in Santiago, Chile, and Bordeaux.

Tribute to Belasteguín

In addition to the incredible plays the tournament provided for all padel fans, the crowd witnessed a well-deserved tribute to “The Boss,” Fernando Belasteguín, on Saturday.
