Men’s Final: Coello & Tapia – unstoppable force
Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello once again proved why they are the most dominant force in men’s padel. By defeating Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto 7‑6, 7‑5 in the final of the Premier Padel Tarragona P1, they clinched their 37th title as a pair, officially surpassing the legendary duo Bela/Lima to become the second most successful team in padel history — behind only Bela and Juan Martín.
The match began evenly on the scoreboard, but Tapia and Coello were clearly more comfortable. Their control at the net and power in the overheads left few opportunities for their rivals. The first set was decided in a tie-break, where Tapia shifted gears and completely took over the rally. In the second set, Chingotto and Galán raised their level, but at 6‑5, the world No.1s stepped forward and closed out the match with a decisive break.
“When Tapia presses the accelerator, padel turns into a one-way game.”
This victory marks their 4th straight title, cementing a phenomenal summer run that stretches the gap between them and the chasing pack.
Women’s Final: Triay & Brea – new queens of the court
In the women’s final, Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea defeated world No.1s Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría 7‑6, 6‑4, taking not only the trophy but also the top spot in the team rankings.
The match was tight, especially in the first set tie-break, but Triay and Brea showed poise under pressure. They broke at the right moment in the second set and didn’t look back. With this win, they now hold six titles in 2025, and confirm their rise to the top.
“Another solid, confident performance from Brea and Triay – the new No.1 team in the world.”
