This Sunday at D´Ouro Padel saw the conclusion of the National Padel Championships, crowning Sofia Araújo and Ana Catarina Nogueira as the Women’s National Champions and Peu Araújo and António Luque as the Men’s National Champions. The weekend showcased high-quality padel, with over 800 players and thousands of spectators visiting the northern club's facilities.
Sofia and Ana Catarina defeated the young duo Mafalda Fernandes and Clarinha Santos in the final, who had previously eliminated the 2023 runners-up, Catarina Vilela and Kátia Rodrigues, in the semifinals with scores of 6-1 in both sets. This victory marks Ana Catarina Nogueira's 13th national title and Sofia Araújo's fifth, making it their third consecutive win as a pair.
In the men's final, Peu Araújo and António Luque triumphed over Afonso Fazendeiro and Pedro Perry with scores of 6-4 in both sets, in a match marked by significant balance throughout. The 2023 national champions, Miguel and Nuno Deus, were unable to advance past the semifinals, falling to the finalists Afonso Fazendeiro and Pedro Perry.
