After a month-long break, the A1 Padel circuit returned last week with the La Rioja Open in Argentina. With most of the circuit's players hailing from this South American country, this tournament held special significance, marking the first time they competed on Argentine soil in 2024.
La Rioja witnessed the triumphant return of Franco Dal Bianco and Maxi Arce, who defeated the current A1 ranking leaders, Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso, in the final with a score of 6-1, 7-5.
Dal Bianco and Arce, who dominated the circuit for nearly two years, claimed their second trophy of the year in La Rioja and remain the only duo to have defeated Tolito and Gonza this year.
This victory by the current No. 2 duo in the circuit adds extra excitement for the Marbella Master, which kicks off on August 8th, where Dal Bianco and Arce could challenge for the top spot in the A1 doubles ranking.
