In the first match, Ana Catarina Nogueira and Patrícia Ribeiro defeated Justine Pysson and Marie Maligo 6-0, 6-7, and 6-2, with the national duo experiencing a small scare in the second set when they allowed the Belgians to level the match after a first set completely dominated by the Portuguese. In the third set, Ana Catarina and Patrícia confirmed their superiority, securing the victory in the match and giving our team the advantage. In the second match, Sofia Araújo and Kátia Rodrigues defeated Helena Wyckaert and An-Sophie Mestach 7-5, 2-6, and 7-6 in a match where the Portuguese duo faced some unexpected difficulties, coming very close to defeat.
