SOFIA ARAÚJO AND MARTA ORTEGA WERE QUEENS IN EGYPT
Sofia Araújo and Marta Ortega became the first champions of the New Giza P2, as only the men’s event was held during the first edition in Egypt in 2022. The Portuguese-Spanish duo claimed their second title of the year, confirming that their decision to reunite as a team was the right one, albeit somewhat delayed.
STUPACZUK AND YANGUAS DOMINATE THE COMPETITION AND WIN THEIR FIRST TROPHY OF 2024
Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas took advantage of the absence of the top-ranked pairs in the Egyptian event to claim their first title of the year, solidifying their status as the No. 1 pair of the New Giza P2.
The Spanish-Argentine duo had a dream week, not dropping a single set throughout the competition and defeating Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini in the final, 6-3, 7-6.
The Spaniard and the Argentine move forward with high confidence to the World Championship, where they are very likely to meet again in the final, representing their respective countries.
The Premier Padel circuit will now take a one-week break for the World Championship and will resume on November 3 with the Dubai P1.
